:: Stabilised vs. Generators Chlorine Dioxide ::
The SCD products are relying on their ability to produce on array of
oxychloros species that includes some proportion of chlorine dioxide.
The
level of chlorine dioxide produced varies per formulation but is in the
range of 10-40% of the total oxychloro species.
The SCD products tend to
be formulated at low concentrations of 2 to 6% of total available
chlorine dioxide.
Until the advent of the oxicat Chlorine Dioxide Generator, the SCD
products were the only means of supplying a chlorine dioxide formulation
into small water circuits.
Now with our Mobile CD Generator we can put
the power of chlorine dioxide into the hands of processes using as little
as 1000 litres per day up to in excess of 1000 million, litres per day.
In general the SCD products are slug dosed at 10-50ppm; the oxicat
chlorine dioxide generators dose systems continuously to maintain a
residual of 0.25 to 2 ppm.
As indicated above we use concentrated
chemicals in the oxicat generators thus the economics are considerably in
favour of the oxicat generator compared to the SCD products.
